• Spouse of Active Duty U.S. Military and Ready Reserve Personnel:
   o Must provide proof of relationship by presenting ID, and a copy of spouse’s LES or DFAS confirmation form.  Only a copy of spouse’s LES or DFAS confirmation form will be retained by the dealership for verification.

• Spouse of U.S. Military Veteran:

• American Gold Star families are immediate relatives (Widow, Parents, Next of Kin) of members of the U.S. Armed Forces who have been killed in combat or in support of certain military activities.
   o "Parents” includes mother, father, stepmother, stepfather, mother through adoption, father through" adoption, and foster parents
   o "Next of Kin" only includes children, brothers, sisters, half-brothers, and half-sisters; and the term "children" includes stepchildren and children through adoption"
• Gold Star Family members must provide one of the following:
   o   Copy of the Report of Casualty (DD Form 1300)
   o   Copy of the application for Gold Star Lapel Button (DD Form 3)
   o   Other official military service documentation supporting Gold Star status
